About Jumpspace

The whole idea of creating this was to learn HTML. Therefore, all these pages have been hand coded, which means that if you find any errors, they're all my fault, and I can't blame any web design tools.

As well as learning HTML, I wanted to created a site that would be viewable on as many different browsers as I could. However, I found that some of the things that I wanted to achieve could only be done using frames, which certainly have their problems. Those of you without frame capable browsers should have been directed to the sitemap, which is the alternative way of navigating without using the menus in the frames.

I tried to be compatible with Netscape 2 and Internet Explorer 2, but in the end I found that Explorer users need to have version 3 or above. But you should be using Opera for your browser anyway :-)

UPDATE, 24 July 2005: To help myself learn something new, and improve the accessability and search engine-friendliness of the site, I've replaced the frames with CSS. Browsers which don't support CSS should render the pages in a readable fashion as I've tried to make sure that they 'degrade' gracefully. I'm currently working on a slightly different design to further improve the cross-browser readability of the site, and to make the pages look better when CSS is not supported.
