About 01:30, Docklands, NMK, Monday the 26th of April, 2055.

I follow the guy back to the Shooting Gallery and as he goes back inside, I head up the street to find the others. Sykes is already back with them and is pawing through the contents of a large padded envelope.

He passes me the envelope and I have a look inside. It contains Rico's four diamond encrusted teeth, some of the kid's clothing and a letter. Guess at least were in no doubt as to where we stand then.

After a certain amount of dithering, we head off to have a look at the building I followed the doorman to. Once there, I leave the others to have a look at the alley and find a fire escape up to the roof of the building opposite.

From the top of the roof I can easily look down along the length of the alley to the door at the far end. There's no cover at all in the alley and I guess that's the way they want it. The roof looks pretty barren too. The only visible access looks to be via the boarded up building on the right hand side of the alley.

As I turn to make my way down, I find Sykes has just climbed up. He's decided to keep watch from the roof, whilst the rest of us do whatever we end up doing. I climb down and join up with the others.

While I was on the roof, it seems that it's been decided that we need to disable the cameras. Crash reckons he's gonna spray paint them with the aim of getting someone to come out. I have my doubts.

Roland, Yuki and me are going to have a look up on the roof. Roland, after several attempts, kicks through one of the boards covering a window. The glass is long gone and we climb in. It's pitch black inside, but Yuki's got a small torch. There's debris scattered throughout and we make our way up to the roof.

The door is firmly locked and resists Roland's repeated kicks. I have a quick hunt round for a lever and find a bit of pipe that's been crushed at one end. Jamming it between the door and its frame, I'm able to get enough leverage to pop the lock.

The roof really is pretty featureless. Apart from the door we've just used, there's nothing up here except for a few air conditioning units. A quick scout round gives us little more knowledge than we already had.

There's an apparent need amongst the group to do something though. And do it now. After some quiet chatter on the radio, I leave Roland and Yuki up on the roof and make my way back down to the front of the alley, where Crash is hanging around.

So we're pretty distributed, with Sykes on the roof opposite the alley, Roland and Yuki on the roof above it, I'm stood just to the left of the alley's end and Crash about to go down it, smashing as many cameras as he can.

Sykes and Yuki will be shooting at the door. Roland has plans to jump down from the roof when the door opens (if it opens). Crash is going to have to hit the deck when the shooting starts. I'm expecting the slot in the metal door to open first. We'll see how well armoured the door is when the shooting starts. I'm betting it's pretty strong.

Everyone's set and Crash starts smashing cameras as quickly as he can. He's about half way down the 40 foot long alley when a neon light above the door illuminates. "The doctor is in" is what it says. The slot in the door opens and a gun barrel protrudes. Crash dives towards the base of the door as the barrel blazes with automatic fire. The game is on...

Letter from Rico's former empleyer.
