Where'd you say you were from?

The inhabitants of the 'Warhammer World' in my campaign don't really have the concept of a planet. There are no other planets to observe in the sky, and as far as they're concerned, they have some ground to stand on, the sun and Mannslieb conveniently go up and down on a regular basis, and the irregularity displayed by Morrslieb inspires stories to scare the children into bed at night. At least this is the view of the typical man on the street/dirt road.

What the bit of ground they are standing on is called depends on context. The political boundaries are used by everyone. A peasant would probably understand that his village is in Reikland, which is in The Empire, which is part of The Old World.

"The Old World" generally consists of The Empire, Brettonia, Estallia, Tilea, The Border Princes, etc.

Beyond the boundaries of The Old World are the 'Far Away Places'. These rumoured, almost mythical places are Lustria, Cathay, Nippon, etc. If they come up in conversation they are always mentioned by name. There is no group noun for them.

Depending on who you are speaking to, and where you are, Albion and Araby, fall into either The Old World or the Far Away Places. For example, a trader or explorer may view Araby as part of The Old World, whereas to the militiaman at the next table in the pub, Araby is definately a Far Away Place.
