Here for your viewing pleasure, are the player characters, some notable non-player characters, and some of the notes, player handouts, maps, etc. from my current campaign. Select one of the links below to be taken to the appropriate section of the page, or just scroll down.
Here's a list of the player characters in my current campaign. So far...
If you follow the links, you'll see that many of the PCs have descriptions and backgrounds written by the players themselves.
I encouraged them to do this by rewarding them with experience points. I initially asked for three
things. A character description, a character background, and an account of what their character had
done in the year running up to the start of the campaign. The idea is that as well as helping the
player 'get into their character's head', it gives me material that I can use to bring elements of
their character's past into the campaign, hopefully making the world more realistic.
Additionally, players can earn a few extra experience points by writing up their characters exploits during the last game session, in the form of a letter to someone from their background. You'll find these after the character notes, if available, as not all my players choose to write them.
Having looked down that list of PCs, you may think that my games are particularly dangerous for the characters. However, I've had a lot of player changes. Here's a quick run down.
Two of my original four players, Lance and Fallow Fan, left our group before the campaign really got started. I managed to find two replacements, but one of them, Claus, missed more than three sessions, and as agreed, that meant the death of his character. The other replacement player, Heinrich, moved to Germany, which made it impossible for his character to continue.
Then another two players joined the group, Charlotte and Emanuelle. Claus's player returned with a new character, Detritus, along with another new player, Muygah. But Muygah's player decided he'd rather play football on a Sunday instead, and Detritus's player missed several more sessions and was kicked out.
Charlotte dropped out due to a slight case of pregnancy, and unfortunately Emanuelle dropped out shortly afterward becuase she found Ernst and Riese too overbearing as players. Now Riese has moved to Scotland which leaves me with just one player, so my campaign is on hold until further notice.
